The Parish Council (PC) has been working on a plan for what needs to be done if there is an emergency in the village.
There are a variety of incidents that could cause the plan to be triggered, such as flooding, a long power outage, or a major traffic incident. You can view a copy of the Working Draft of the Emergency Plan here.

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.
The application, at 54 Saxons Heath, Long Wittenham, is for a single storey rear extension and front porch.

The Village Map which hangs outside the Village Hall has been updated. The 1.18 mtr x 0.84 mtr laminated map details street and property names to aid visitors and delivery companies, and has an index with grid references.
The map was last updated in 2020. The main amendment this time is the addition of Wessex Way. Thanks to all those residents who suggested other changes. Continue reading
Don’t miss the Treasure Hunt and Fun day in aid of Beagle Welfare on Sunday 18th June at the Athletic Club on Bodkins Field from 10:30am.
The Treasure Hunt is a “walkies” of about three miles, with clues to solve along the way. There will also be “Pirate Pooches Agility” from 11:30am to 2pm and a Dog Show for all breeds from 2:30pm. Continue reading
Long Wittenham Athletic Club will be hosting a Car Boot Sale at Bodkins Field this coming Saturday (10th June) starting at 9am.
Any profits will go towards putting a new roof on the club house.

It has come to the Parish Council’s attention that work is scheduled to take place at the junction of Didcot Road and Sires Hill from Monday 5th to Wednesday 7th June.
The utility repair and maintenance work will be carried out by Thames Water. There will be multi-way traffic signals, so delays are possible. Continue reading
