Proposed 30mph & 40mph Speed Limits Consultation
Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) is proposing to introduce new lower speed limits on the approaches to the village.
Specifically, the proposals comprise a short extension to the existing 30mph speed limit on the High Street at the northern end of the village, to then be accompanied by a new 40mph speed limit to run northwards to meet the existing 30mph speed limit at Clifton Hampden. Tollgate Road Culham Closure 15th to 20th April
The Parish Council has been advised by the Network Management team at Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) that a temporary road closure of Tollgate Road, Culham will operate from 15th April to 20th April 2024.

Community Hub Planning Application
The Parish Council has been advised that the detailed planning application for the Community Hub is now acceptable to South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) and Oxfordshire District Council (OCC).

On Thursday 2nd May, residents will be able to vote for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, the elected representative who oversees how crime is tackled across the area.
Their aim is to cut crime and to ensure the police force is effective. They are elected for a four-year term.

Fostering is about providing stability, positivity, and reassurance when a child needs it most. It’s not easy because many of the children need a lot of support.

New Parish Councillor
The Parish Council welcomed a new member to its ranks at its meeting last evening (21st March), when Ian Burton was co-opted as councillor.
Ian, who lives on Saxons Heath, moved to the village in 1975. He has worked as a technician within the nuclear sector for almost forty years.
He played football and cricket locally and is currently the chairman of Long Wittenham Athletic Club and helps out as a groundsman for Clifton Hampden Cricket Club. Continue reading
