This month’s film at the Long Wittenham Film Club at St Mary’s Church, next Monday 16th December at 1:45pm is Nativity, a feel-good Christmas film for the whole family. Primary school teacher Paul has to produce a musical version of the Nativity. The stakes are raised when he boasts that his ex-girlfriend Jennifer, a Hollywood producer, is coming to see his show with a view to turning it into a film. It stars Martin Freeman and Ashley Jensen.
Campaigners seeking to reopen railway stations at Appleford and Culham on Sundays have called on candidates in the Wantage and Henley constituencies to back the move which is already supported by local parish councils.

Work has finished on restoring a section of public footpath between the western end of Fieldside and Saxons Heath. Some of the path had narrowed because of encroachment from the adjacent field but now the full width of the path has been restored.
Pupils from Long Wittenham Primary school are playing their part in the drive to cut vehicle speeds through the village. More than seventy children took part in a painting competition to design distinctive posters urging drivers to reduce speed and stick to the 30mph restriction.
